The Speaker waived the Finance Committee referral for the following                                                             
at the request of Representative Meyer, Co-chair:                                                                               
                                                                                                                                
    SPONSOR SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 294                                                                                   
    "An Act establishing the division of marine transportation;                                                                 
    establishing the Alaska Marine Transportation Authority Board                                                               
    and the position of director of the division of marine                                                                      
    transportation, and assigning the powers and duties of each;                                                                
    making conforming amendments; and providing for an effective                                                                
    date."                                                                                                                      
                                                                                                                                
SSHB 294 was removed from the Finance Committee and referred to                                                                 
the Rules Committee for placement on the calendar.
